Using Plex with Private Internet Access VPN
Frequently when using Private Internet Access VPN with Plex Media Server you'll lose Remote Access. The following are step I took to maintain my remote connection while using PIA VPN client. 1.) You'll need to assign a static IP address to you plex server. I accomplished this by using my routers DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) settings. 2.) You'll need to manually select a port in you PMS control panel 3.) You'll need to ensure the port is forwarded in via your Router 4.) Before activating your PIA VPN Client you'll have to specify the local port you'll be forwarding PMS Control Panel Router Port Forwarding Control Panel PIA Client Control Panel
